I have looked at various measures (in fa...Hello M,<br /><br />I have looked at various measures (in fact in <a href="http://informationtransfereconomics.blogspot.com/2015/03/price-level-model-code.html" rel="nofollow">this post</a> in the linked code you can see the label for the price level variable is DEF for the GDP deflator, even though I tend to use core PCE inflation -- that only because the Fed tends to focus on core PCE in the US).<br /><br />However the data is too noisy or the model isn't good enough to distinguish between the various measures.
